terms of service

these are the rules for using helumi. by using helumi, you agree to them. we’ve kept them short and plain.

what helumi is

helumi is a mac app and cloud storage. it adds a drive to finder where your files are stored in the cloud and opened from there, so they take up little or no space on your mac.

early access

helumi is new. we test it carefully, but it may change, and parts may not always work perfectly. we’ll tell you before big changes.

your account

• keep your google account safe. you’re responsible for what happens in your helumi account.
• tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
• you must be at least 13 years old to use helumi.

your files are yours

you own everything you store in helumi. you give us permission only to store, copy and send your files as needed to run helumi for you: for example, to show them on your macs, or to let people download files you share.

what you can’t do

• store or share anything illegal, including content that exploits children.
• share files you don’t have the right to share.
• spread malware, or use share links or file requests to spam or harm people.
• try to break, overload or get around the limits of helumi.

if you do, we may remove the content or close the account, and we’ll report illegal content where the law requires.

plans and payments

• plans are paid monthly, through dodo payments. prices are shown before you pay.
• you can change or cancel your plan any time. a cancelled plan runs until the end of the month you paid for.
• we don’t refund part months, unless the law where you live says we must.
• if we change prices, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before your next payment.
• if a plan ends or a payment fails, your files are not deleted. you just can’t add more until your storage fits your plan. we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before removing files from an unpaid account.

keeping your files safe

helumi is built never to lose your files: deleted files are kept for 30 days, and edits made on two macs never overwrite each other. still, no service is perfect. keep another copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.

limits of our responsibility

helumi is provided as it is. as far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or missed deadlines, and our total responsibility is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. nothing here takes away rights you have by law.

ending

you can stop using helumi and close your account any time. we may close accounts that break these rules. either way, you’ll have a chance to download your files first, except for illegal content.

changes

if we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you by email before they apply.
